Thanks to a fourth grant from the European Union under ALFA Programme (contract no. II-0246-FI PRINTO 2003-2006) PRINTO set up a scientific and technical collaborative network of first level research training in Paediatric Rheumatology, to support mainly Latin America and European physicians post-graduates mobility and to provide post-doctoral vocational specialisation research courses, aimed at improving standard guidelines for clinical practice and fostering high quality research in the field. Participating Latin American countries are: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, or Mexico. Participating European Union countries are: Italy, France, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom. Twenty-eight scolarships were available for the academic years of 2003-2006: 24 for Latin American recipients and 4 for European recipients.
